Week 2, Day 1

Back to civilisation! Cosmopolitan Helsinki had a flushing toilet, hot shower....and more importantly for the children, a McDonalds. We spent the morning strolling along the Esplanadi, past the cake shops and cafes. After lunch (Sushi and beer) we made our way to the harbour markets searching for local handicrafts and little knic-knacs.

Afternoon tea at the Elberg was followed by dinner at a little Italian restaurant behind Mannerheimtie. It was 9:00pm and the sun was still warm. We were walking around the most northern (and coldest) capital city in the world in short sleeves ans shorts.
